SMS & MMS to Facebook and Twitter

After the launching the Friendster Alert service, Maxis is back with introducing new service called ‘fb2mobile’, the communications service provider connects its mobile subscribers to Facebook and Twitter via SMS and MMS.
The ‘fb2mobile‘ service will allow customers with a Facebook account to keep in touch with friends for only RM2 a month. This service is for anyone with a phone capable of sending and receiving SMS and they may subscribe to ‘fb2mobile’.
Customers with a Facebook account simply need to send “ON FB” to 23223 (which denotes 2FACE on a normal phone keypad) to register for the service.
Via the mobile phone, ‘fb2mobile’ enables Maxis customers to:
• post real-time status updates in Facebook via SMS
• upload photo(s) in Facebook via MMS
• receive their friends’ latest Facebook updates (comments and status)
• reply to comments on friends’ updates
• post text to update their Twitter account via the Twitter tool
With the ‘fb2mobile Mobile Messenger’ feature, customers can also send SMS to other Maxis customers directly from Facebook (charges of 8 sen per SMS apply).
The Mobile Messenger feature also lets customers schedule the sending of an SMS at a specific time or date.
Customers who subscribe to ‘fb2mobile’ alerts will enjoy free monthly subscriptions until 28 Feb 2010. After the period, a monthly charge of RM2 will apply. Standard telco charges for sending SMS and MMS to 23223 and data charges apply for the service.
