The Malaysia’s latest satellite, MEASAT-3A had been launched on Monday 22 June 2009 at 3.50 a.m or 5.50 a.m (Malaysia time).MEASAT-3A was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. It cost US$165 million for satellite launched.
About MEASAT-3A
The MEASAT-3a satellite was developed and built for MEASAT Satellite Systems of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The satellite carries 12 Ku-band and 12 C-band transponders and features three antennas. MEASAT-3a provides C-band communications services throughout Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and Ku-band direct-to-home television broadcasting to Malaysia and Indonesia. The satellite is located at an orbital slot of 91.5 degrees East longitude over Southeast Asia and generates approximately 3.5 kilowatts of payload power.
