Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad

Our former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Dr M) going to launch a new book of him on December 4th. This book is described about the first independent, full-length study of “Dr M”.

The book will be titled “Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Time“.This book is written by Asian Wall Street Journal former editor, Barry Wain.

A statement released by publishers yesterday said “Wain writes about the Mahathir administration, which took office in 1981 with the slogan, ‘clean, efficient and trustworthy’.

The book credits Tun Dr Mahathir’s role in transforming Malaysia’s economy and expanding the country’s middle class, but also says he did it at the expense of state institutions and Malaysia’s future leadership.
